"It’s great. I actually haven’t been to an event that’s this well organized. Ever.  This is by far one of the better experiences of my life."

BORSOI, Malcolm (Surrey) – 100 m Special Olympics (Silver)

On his race

"It felt good.  Honestly, I was thinking about it all night. But, I wanted first or second and I was able to get second which makes me really happy."

"It’s nice to meet new people and meet different athletes. It’s really good."

TERLESKY, Brock (Quesnel) – 100 m Special Olympics (6th place)
On improving his time from the preliminaries
“It felt pretty good. My quad was a bit sore before the race so, I was a little bit concerned about that. But I was hoping for a PB, so it felt good today.”

BLAKE, Jerome (Kelowna) – 100 m (Silver) 10.379

On being part of Team BC
“It’s always a pleasure to represent my province. I feel pretty happy. It’s always a joy for me to come out here and represent BC. Everyone from BC is like family. They support each other no matter what.”

On working towards representing Canada
“That’s my goal to represent Canada one day. How ever high I can get in track and field and try to represent my country one day.”

On being at the Canada Games
“It’s been great. It’s been a pleasure being here.  The city of Winnipeg and the province of Manitoba have hosted us really nice. All these volunteers leave their homes and families to come out here and help us out. I am pretty excited and pretty happy.”

COULSON-WILLETT, Sam (Victoria) – Hammer Gold (Received medal on Thursday after competing on Tuesday)
On competing at the Canada Games
"It’s been a great experience. I’ve had a lot of fun and met a lot of great athletes and I’ve had a great competition, so it turned out well for me."

D’AGNOLO, Lauren (Victoria) 400 metres – 6th place
On her race and recent hamstring injury
“This is my first big race back from injury. I am getting over the barrier of feeling confident in my stride again. In the heats, I ran like a bit of a chicken, but managed to make the finals.  I have missed a lot of training.”
