On another beautiful day at Nakiska Ski Resort, Team BC Alpine competed in the slalom competition. Logan Leach (Lumby) did enough to secure the silver medal.
Leach completed two runs on the course today with times of: run 1 – 1:01.28 and run 2 – 1:08.47. The competition had 8 athletes in the running for the podium. Leach only began racing a few years ago. He first began skiing when he was no longer able to compete in hockey following his vision worsening.
“The first run felt a little bit off, but it was good enough to get a good time. I was feeling pretty nervous for the second run, but I managed to still get the silver.”
Leach skis with his guide, Caele Kassa. Earlier this week they placed 5th in the Giant Slalom Para Male competition.
“I have had a lot of fun at these Games. I haven’t had the chance to go to a lot of large events like this, so it has been great, a lot of fun.”
