Team BC to curl for a bronze medal

By Heather Beatty, Team BC Mission Staff

Team BC took on Team Manitoba in the curling semi-finals tonight.  Although this was the first time the two teams met, they appeared to be evenly matched.  Both teams have been at the top of the stats throughout the week.

In the first end, Team BC got off to a slow start, allowing Team Manitoba to steal two points.  As the game progressed, missed opportunities to score multiple points put Team BC further behind.  After nine ends of play, Team Manitoba was up 6-4 with the hammer in the last end.  In the tenth end, Team BC was sitting two and when it came down to the final rock, the Team Manitoba skip was able to remove one of Team BC’s stones to secure the win and make the final score 6-5.

In the other semi-final game, Team Ontario beat Team Saskatchewan 9-5. Team Manitoba will face Team Ontario in the final and Team BC will play Team Saskatchewan for the bronze medal.
