Team BC Hockey posts win over PEI

Team BC started off the game with high intensity, pressuring PEI at every chance. PEI’s goaltender, Ava Boutilier robbed BC’s Shannon Morris-Reade (Port Coquitlam) in the slot while the Potomak sisters (Amy and Sarah-Aldergrove) had a number of great chances early on. Team BC captain Micah Hart (Saanichton) was finally able to bury one with 11:55 into the 1st. The assist came from Defence partner Olivia Knowles (Campbell River).

Sarah Potomak followed soon after at 13:44 with another assist from Knowles.

Sarah Potomak solidified the lead with a short handed goal early in the second period and Maegan Beres (Lions Bay) followed it up with two goals. PEI was not a team to back down and scored with just under 10 minutes left in the 3rd.

Final score was 5-1 with shots 45-10 for BC.

BC placed third in their pool and will play again against Saskatchewan on Wednesday at 4:00 at Kin 2.
