As some Team BC athletes depart Prince George after week 1, we welcome the next wave of Team BC athletes to Prince George this Sunday. For the new arrivals, we’d like to help you prepare for your time here so read ahead for some tips we've collected.
Experience of a lifetime for ringette’s Cichos
Team BC’s ringette captain Angela Cichos has never experienced anything like the 2015 Canada Winter Games.
The 18-year-old Port Coquitlam player has competed in countless high-stakes tournaments and difficult games but has never felt the same level of support that took place over the course of the week’s competition.
“It was amazing and I loved it,” she said. “The first couple of days got us really pumped and excited. First with the Team BC pep rally and then the opening ceremonies. And then all the support we got on the ice topped it all off.”
Seven medals for Team BC on the final day of week one competition
On the final day of week one, Team BC captured medals in alpine skiing, biathlon, curling and speed skating. Team BC had 41 medals including 12 gold, 16 silver and 13 bronze.
Team BC to curl for a bronze medal

Determined wheelchair basketball team rewarded with win over Team Nova Scotia
Team BC advances in wheelchair basketball with a big 53-38 win. They play Team New Brunswick tomorrow at 1 p.m.
Team BC gymnastics earns five medals on final day of competition
Team BC wins big in the gymnastics individual events today. Shallon Olsen and Aaron Mah lead the way with a total of eight medals combined.
Ladies’ ski cross leads the way at Tabor Mountain
Team BC ladies and men dominate day one of ski cross. Quarterfinals begin tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.
