Today is Pink Shirt Day in British Columbia and Team BC athletes, coaches, managers and mission staff currently at the 2015 Canada Winter Games are taking a moment to join the movement and stand up against bullying.

Team BC gymnasts face tough competition in trampoline but pull out four top ten finishes in the individual events.

Team BC gets ready for judo competition beginning tomorrow.  The team is competing in all 14 weight categories.

Tuesday was another big day for Team BC’s cross country skiers as they posted five podium performances, that in addition to the three medals the team earned on Monday.

Colin Ferrie of Kimberley won his first medal of the Games, skiing to gold in the 1.5km classic sprint.

When Abdul Shaikh landed in Toronto he had 80 dollars in his pocket, two suitcases, two children, and his number one supporter by his side, his wife. 

The year was 1967 and Shaikh was one of India’s premiere badminton players. Nearly 50 years later, he has become one of B.C.’s most celebrated coaches in the sport. The Canada Games Council inducted him into its 2015 Hall of Honour class on Feb. 12, recognizing his dedication to sport, as well as his excellence and leadership.

Three Team BC athletes make squash semi-finals while both men’s and women’s teams defeat their first round of opponents. 

The badminton individual competition kicked off today at the 2015 Canada Winter Games. The first few rounds of bracket play decided the quarterfinalists of each of the five disciplines, and Team BC has great representation in the the upcoming rounds.

Week two of action at the Canada Winter Games got underway with medals from para cross country and preliminary action in hockey, curling, figure skating, badminton, squash and table tennis.
