Team BC Wrestlers dominated the mat in the individual competition with every athlete contributing to the 22 medal haul!

Following a disappointing loss in their semifinal match-up British Columbia’s women’s basketball team bounced back to win bronze, 56-48 over Alberta, at the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games on Aug. 11. 

Rostam Turner, a decathlon athlete from Kelowna B.C. Turner had seven  personal bests during the Western Canada Summer Games in discus, pole vault, high jump, shot put, 110m hurdles, 100m and long jump and finished with a total of 7113 points and claiming the gold medal.

It was another beautiful day along the Snye for the Canoe/ Kayak competition as Anna Zhang (Vancouver) and Hana Ronayne (Pemberton) paddled their way to a bronze medal in the C-2 5000m in their inaugural multi-sport games.

Both the men’s and women’s beach volleyball‎ team book their tickets to the gold medal final today.

Team BC won double gold in the team wrestling event at the Western Canada Summer Games.

Team BC continued their athletics medal haul today, Aug. 10, at Timberlea Athletics Park, where Regan Yee raced the third best time in Canadian history in the 2000m steeplechase and BC swept the podium in the women’s hammer throw. 

The British Columbia women’s basketball team will play for bronze after suffering a heart-breaking loss, 51-46, to Manitoba in the first semifinal of the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games.
