Cross country skiers win two gold, one silver in first day of para events

B.C.’s para cross country athletes posted impressive results at the Canada Winter Games on Monday, winning two gold and one silver medal. 

Revelstoke’s Emily Suchy won gold in the 2.5km sit-ski event. Her teammate Andy Lin of Burnaby also won gold in the 2.5km standing classic para male event. North Vancouver’s Emily Weekes took silver in the 2.5km standing classic para female race.

Finn Chesters a 15 year old playing with the Victoria Eagles in the BC Premier League won the Outstanding Pitcher in their provincial championship tournament. BC dominated their opponents in this game with precision pitching, excellent fielding and timely hitting.

BC swims to double gold in 4x200m freestyle relay

Team BC had a successful opening day of competition in the pool at MacDonald Island Park today, Aug. 13. BC swimmers combined for 24 medals (10 gold, nine silver and five bronze). Both 4x200m relay teams captured gold to wrap up the successfully evening of finals.

Team BC leads medal count after phase one of Western Canada Summer Games

Team BC came to the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games as the province to beat and the phase one athletes did not disappoint.  Team BC leads the medal count with 169 including 77 gold, 51 silver, and 41 bronze.
