The start of the second phase of the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games picked right up where Phase 1 athletes left it – winning medals.

Team BC had a successful opening day of competition in the pool at MacDonald Island Park today, Aug. 13. BC swimmers combined for 24 medals (10 gold, nine silver and five bronze). Both 4x200m relay teams captured gold to wrap up the successfully evening of finals. 

The women’s softball team won all three games Thursday at Syncrude Athletic Park.

James Ho (Surrey) is not only a talented badminton player, but he’s also an accomplished pianist.

Conditions were beautiful for the opening day of triathlon competition, Aug. 13, in Anzac, Alta. Triathletes Desirae Ridenour (Cowichan Bay) and Michael Milic (Delta) were the lone BC athletes to step on the podium.

For players used to playing in baseball only tournaments  where you just come to the field and play, a multi-sport games is quite different. They are now part of a bigger team, TeamBC, enthusiastic crowds of people come to watch their games.

Team BC came to the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games as the province to beat and the phase one athletes did not disappoint.  Team BC leads the medal count with 169 including 77 gold, 51 silver, and 41 bronze.
