Leave your tracks in Winnipeg by donating running shoes for kids

Team BC and Team Ontario are supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg.  Both teams are collecting donations of new or gently used running shoes to help give more children the opportunity to take part in physical activity or sport through the Boys and Girls Clubs programs.

“I challenge you to grab some running shoes and donate now, so kids across this country can be involved in sport,” said Team BC honourary captain Ryan Cochrane.

Team BC members can contribute by:
Delivering shoes to Fortius in Burnaby on July 8, during the uniform pick up session.
Shipping shoes to 200-990 Fort St. Victoria, BC by July 6
Athletes and coaches can also pack shoes to donate, bring them to Winnipeg and give them to Mission Staff or drop them off at the Team BC office at the Games.

This is the first time Team BC and Team Ontario have joined forces on a Games legacy project.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg is one of the city’s leading youth-serving agencies, operating across the city for 40 years.  The organization operates 11 community-based clubs and numerous youth development programs offering a safe alternative to the streets during the evening and after-school hours.
