Eron Main and Brianna Davey

Leadership team named for 2027 Canada Winter Games as Team BC begins search for Mission Staff

February 23, 2026

VICTORIA – The BC Games Society is pleased to announce that Eron Main and Brianna Davey will reprise their roles as Chef de Mission and Assistant Chef de Mission, respectively, for the Québec 2027 Canada Winter Games from February 27 to March 14, 2027.

APPLY FOR MISSION STAFF TEAM

Main and Davey teamed up to lead Team BC at the St. John’s 2025 Canada Summer Games and will now begin the process of recruiting up to 25 volunteer Mission Staff to provide support to Team BC’s contingent of athletes, coaches, and managers. The application process will remain open until Friday, March 13 at 11:59 p.m. PT.

Main is no stranger to sport, having served in senior leadership roles at the International Wheelchair Rugby Federation and Rowing BC. He has attended 29 international or national Games in a variety of roles, including three Canada Summer Games (2013, 2017, 2022) as Sport Mission Staff. Currently, Main serves as the Executive Director of the Canadian Blind Sports Association.

As Chef de Mission, Main will fill the roles of team leader, official spokesperson, and cheerleader for the Team BC contingent and – in consultation with Davey, BC Games Society staff, the Canada Games Council, and the Host Society – will help coordinate the overall direction of Team BC’s participation in the Canada Summer Games.

“I am thrilled to have another opportunity to lead Team BC at the Canada Games alongside Brianna and the leadership team,” said Main. “I hope we and the Team can build on our achievements in St. John’s to once again show Canada the very best of BC. I’m really looking forward to working with the rest of our Mission Staff, the ‘team behind the team,’ to give our Team BC athletes and coaches a first-class Games experience.”

Davey has ample experience at the Canada Games. She served as Sport Mission Staff at the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games and the PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games before taking on the role as Assistant Chef de Mission for the 2025 Canada Summer Games. Davey also attended the 2019 Canada Winter Games as Director of Operations for the Team BC female hockey program. During her over 10 years with BC Hockey, she has been involved in the high-performance program, facilitating camps and providing positive experiences for athletes wishing to compete at a higher level.

“I am truly honoured to be selected again to assist in leading Team BC at the 2027 Canada Winter Games,” said Davey. “Having had the privilege of serving as Assistant Chef de Mission in 2025, I greatly value those experiences and look forward to supporting our athletes, coaches, and mission staff. I am excited to work alongside Eron again and the leadership team to help ensure a positive and memorable Games experience for Team BC.”

Individuals from all different backgrounds are invited to apply for a Mission Staff role by Friday, March 13 at 11:59 p.m. PT. To learn more about volunteering as Mission Staff with Team BC, visit our application page.
