Team BC Men’s soccer is going to gold after scoring in the last two minutes of the game this afternoon.
It was another great day in the pool for Team BC on Aug. 15 as swimmers as collectively they brought in nine gold, 10 silver and seven bronze medals for a team total of 26 medals.
Stormy skies and the threat of rain didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of Team BC softball fans Saturday afternoon. Chants of “we are BC” rang out as the game got underway at Syncrude Athletic Park. The afternoon game was a grudge match of sorts, after BC lost to Manitoba just a day earlier, the BC ladies delivered the win in five innings, 10 – 0.
Team BC Golf took gold medals in the team competition on both the men’s and the women’s side Saturday at the Fort McMurray Golf Course.
BC lost its first badminton matches of the competition when both James Ho and Joshua Liu were defeated in their respective men’s singles matches. Both matches went to three sets.
Justin Olic (Surrey), a crafty southpaw was today’s starter against Alberta. Unknown to him, his father Frank Olic flew in to watch the him play. After working the 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM shift Frank jumped on a plane in Vancouver to Fort McMurray.
