Team BC edged Quebec 3-2 in the gold medal game to win their first gold medal since 2013.

Men’s basketball headed for bronze medal game on Saturday

Team BC will take on Quebec in the bronze medal game after falling to Ontario by a score of 83-71 on Friday. The bronze medal game will take place at 3:15 p.m. NDT Saturday.

Baseball will play for gold after besting PEI in semifinal

Team BC shut out PEI 7-0 to advance to the final, where they will play Quebec at 7:00 p.m. NDT on Saturday.

Tennis falls in semifinal against Ontario, will play for Bronze

Team BC took their semifinal matchup to the brink but ended up on the losing side, as Ontario came away with 4-3 victory in the tie. BC has a chance at bronze on Saturday when they take on Alberta at 2:00 p.m.

Team BC led for most of the game on the way to a 4-2 win over Alberta in the gold medal game.

Softball women win gold for sixth straight Canada Summer Games

Team BC took a big lead early and held off Ontario on the way to their sixth consecutive Canada Games gold medal and seventh in the last eight Games.

Men headed to semifinal after knocking off New Brunswick in beach volleyball

Team BC beat New Brunswick 2-1 (21-19, 20-22, 15-6) to book a ticket to the semifinal tomorrow at 10 a.m. NDT, which will see them face off against Manitoba.

Women’s basketball edged out by Ontario in semifinal

Team BC will play for bronze in women’s basketball tomorrow (1:00 p.m. NDT) after falling to Ontario 72-53 in what was a close affair for most of the game.

Women’s beach volleyball falls to Saskatchewan in quarterfinals

Team BC dropped a tough match 2-1 (21-11, 17-21, 11-15) against Saskatchewan on Friday. They will play Nova Scotia in the consolation round at 4:00 p.m. NDT.

Tons of action on the docket for Day 7 in St. John’s

Lots of medals on the line today. Women’s softball (1:30 p.m. NDT) and box lacrosse (5:00 p.m. NDT) are going for gold today while both tennis (2:00 p.m. NDT), basketball (women 1:00 p.m./men 7:45 p.m. NDT) and baseball (4:00 p.m. NDT) try and punch their tickets to finals.

Both beach volleyball teams will have a chance to move on to the semifinals with the women playing their quarterfinal at 11:00 a.m. NDT and the men playing 2:00 p.m. NDT.

Medals are also available in open water swimming at 9:00 a.m. NDT and men’s soccer, who will play for bronze at 4:30 p.m.

Swimming cleans up on final day in the pool

The last day in the pool saw swimming rack up 11 medals, including six more gold medals and a fifth Canada Games record for Ken Stroud. Some of the team will now turn their attention to open water swimming on Friday at 9:00 a.m. NDT.

Softball headed to the final

A five-inning, 7-0 victory over Ontario in booked Team BC women’s softball their spot in the final tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. NDT against a to-be-determined opponent.

Tennis wins quarterfinal against Nova Scotia

Team BC showed up in a big way in the playoff round, beating a tough Nova Scotia team 4-2 in their tie on Thursday. Ontario awaits them in their semifinal on Friday at 2:00 p.m. PDT.

Women’s and men’s beach volleyball each won in two sets, with the men beat PEI and the women beat Alberta.

Women’s basketball beat Saskatchewan 74-65 and men’s basketball followed up with an 81-74 victory over Manitoba as both teams moved on to their semifinals. Both teams are waiting for other games to finish to find out who they play tomorrow.

Canoe kayak medals keep rolling in

Team BC is back on the water in St. John’s as the canoe kayak team looks to win more medals. Keisa Bleiler got the ball rolling with bronze in the women’s C1 200m this morning.

Swimming all over the podium on Wednesday night

It was a big night for Team BC’s swimming squad, as they brought home three gold medals and six bronze. Maelle Sanborn continued her excellent games by winning gold in the 100m Breaststroke before closing out the evening on the top of the podium with the women’s 4 x 100m Medley Relay alongside teammates Kelly Choi, Emilie Golinowski, and Olivia Zhou. Ken Stroud won BC’s other gold medal in men’s Para 50/100m Breaststroke — his fifth medal of the Games and third gold.

Baseball moves on to semis with win over Manitoba

Men’s baseball took one more step closer to a medal on Wednesday, beating Manitoba 4-2 in their quarterfinal matchup. Their reward? A rematch on Friday with PEI  — who served them an upset earlier in the tournament.

Men’s beach volleyball beat Quebec 2-1 while the women’s pair lost 2-0 against Ontario for their first loss.

Women’s basketball beat Quebec 71-54 for their first win while men’s basketball came back from over 10 points in the 4th quarter but lost 90-80 to Quebec in overtime.

Softball (W) punches ticket to semifinal with victory over New Brunswick

Rylee Ruppel drove in four runs on two hits to lead Team BC past Team New Brunswick 11-1. Ruppel hit a home run to center field in the third.

PEI upsets baseball (M) to extend the road to the final

Playing for a chance to skip the quarterfinals, Team BC fell to PEI 3-1 and will have to play in a quarterfinal later in the day against Manitoba (4:00 p.m. NDT).

Both rugby sevens teams headed to final later on Wednesday

Team BC’s rugby sevens teams will both have a shot at taking home gold on Wednesday. The women beat Nova Scotia 29-12 while the men shut out Alberta to set up a matchups with Ontario at 6:30 p.m. and 6:57 p.m. PST, respectively.

Box Lacrosse (F) book ticket to semifinals on Thursday

Team BC’s women’s box lacrosse team beat New Brunswick 13-1 to stay undefeated and earn a berth in the semifinals on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. NDT.

Canoe kayak brings home three medals

Team BC won two silver medals and a bronze in canoe kayak. Jeffrey Sun was part of all three boats, winning bronze in the C1 200m before combining with Corbin Hickey, Nate Neuls, and Alexander Smith to win silver in both the Men’s IC4 200m and 500m.

Busy playoff day on the horizon for Team BC

Wednesday features important races for canoe kayak, cycling, and swimming too.

A number of team sports also have playoff games today:

  • 10:40 a.m. NDT | Baseball Playoff Qualification vs PEI (winner moves to semis, plays in quarters)
  • 11:00 a.m. NDT | Box Lacrosse (W) Quarterfinal vs New Brunswick
  • 12:12 p.m. NDT | Rugby Sevens (W) Semifinal vs Nova Scotia (final scheduled for evening on Wednesday)
  • 12:30 p.m. NDT | Softball (W) Quarterfinal vs New Brunswick
  • 2:02 p.m. NDT | Rugby Sevens (M) Semifinal vs Alberta (final schedule for evening on Wednesday)

In preliminary team action, men’s and women’s basketball are both closing out their preliminary rounds at 1:00 p.m. NDT — both against Quebec.

Box Lacrosse (W) win

In the final match of the day, Team BC downed Nova Scotia 6-2 to remain undefeated at 3-0.

Next up, BC will take on New Brunswick in the quarterfinal at 11:00 a.m. NDT.

Team BC leadership issues statement on wildfires in Newfoundland and Labrador

Basketball (M) drops a heartbreaker to Ontario

Team BC (0-2) tied the game late but Ontario (2-0) hit a late shot to pick up an 86-84 win on Tuesday night.

Next up is a matchup with Quebec at 1:00 p.m. NDT on Wednesday.

Soccer men come back late, win a wild one against Ontario to stay undefeated

After trailing for the majority of the game, Team BC scored two goals late to shock Ontario 2-1 and move to 2-0 at the Canada Games.

With the win, BC moves on to the semifinal on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. where they will face off against Alberta.

Men’s and women’s rugby sevens win quarterfinal matches, advance to semis Wednesday

Women’s Rugby won 33-0 against PEI and men’s Rugby downed Saskatchewan 43-0 to advance to semi finals tomorrow.

The Team BC women will meet Nova Scotia at 12:12 p.m. NDT while the men will play Alberta at 2:02 p.m. NDT. Finals and bronze medal games will be played after 5:00 p.m. NDT on Wednesday.

Team BC’s hot start in women’s box lacrosse continued on Monday as the team picked up their third win, beating Quebec 10-2. B.C. will be back on the field on Tuesday for at 5:00 p.m. NDT.

Liam Chew won his first medal of the Canada Games with a gold in the 400m Individual Medley.

Team BC (2-0) defeated hosts Newfoundland and Labrador (1-1) 39-0 to keep the good times going in St. John’s. They will be back in action at 6:04 p.m. NST against Prince Edward Island (1-0), who beat the Yukon 45-0 in their first match.

Team BC women’s basketball (0-2) fell to Ontario on Monday by a score of 71-49. The team will be back on the court against Quebec on Wednesday.

Team BC is on the board in Canoe Kayak as Veronica So raced to silver in the Women’s C1 1000m. So’s performance was one among a number of strong efforts from B.C. on Monday, with multiple of her teammates barely missing the podium.

Ken Stroud set a Canada Games record to take home Team BC’s first gold medal of the games in the 200m (S1-5,S14) / 400m(S6-13) Freestyle Para Men’s event, finishing 18 more points (825) than the silver medalist Gavin Baggs (807).

Rugby’s Josh McIndoe named Team BC flag bearer for Opening Ceremonies (1 p.m. PST)

Men’s rugby player Joshua McIndoe will carry the flag for Team BC at Opening Ceremonies of the St. John’s 2025 Canada Summer Games on Saturday.

“It’s an absolute honour,” said McIndoe. “To not only represent my province on the rugby stage, but also to be recognized as our flag bearer is an absolute honour.”
