Team BC breaks 100 medal mark
|
All sports were back in action today at the 2017 Canada Summer Games and Team BC broke the 100 medal mark earning 12 more medals.

Soccer Men – Team BC 0 vs Team Alberta 0 (BC loses on penalties)
Tennis resumed today after being delayed by rain yesterday with Team BC defeating Quebec in the semifinals. It was a marathon session over six and a half hours, ending in a mixed doubles tiebreaker match that took three sets to decide (6-3, 6-4, 6-4). Team BC will now face Team Ontario in the Gold Medal match of the mixed team event on Friday morning.
Following the Mixed Team event, several team BC athletes had quarterfinal matches in the individual events. Men's doubles team Aaron Diemer and Jovan Sihota defeated Nova Scotia in three sets, 6-7, 6-3, 6-3. Women's doubles Yasmin Mansouri and Sasha Vagramov defeated Newfoundland in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0.
Leading into the final day of Golf rounds, Team BC is sitting strong in second place for both the men’s and women’s team standings. Individually the women sit in 1st, 4th and 8th overall and the men sit in 3rd, 7th and 8th.
The third day of racing for Canoe/Kayak produced some strong results for Team BC with the highlight being a 4th place finish in the K2 1000m for Alex Brent (Dewdney) & Matt Koehler (Maple Ridge) and 4th place in Men’s C1 200m for Alexandre Demishkevich (Kamloops).

RBC Training Ground

RBC Training Ground wants to put your athletes to the test! All athletes competing at Canada Games are invited to perform in front of coaches and officials from multiple different National Sport Organizations, to test their athletic abilities against performance benchmarks in power, strength and speed. The top performing male and female athletes will each receive an invitation to compete at the RBC Training Ground Ontario Regional Final in Toronto on October 14, 2017.

There is transportation from the Athletes Village to and from the Forks from 4:00pm until 10:00pm.
