Sunday was another cross-country travel day for Team BC at the PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games as week one athletes completed their games experience and week two athletes arrived.

British Columbia wrapped up the first week of the PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games with eight more medals, including a historic first-ever Canada Games gold in wheelchair basketball.

Bonita Ewert is in PEI cheering for the wheelchair basketball team and her son Joel, but her involvement in the Canada Games runs deeper.

BC’s karate team had about as good of a Canada Games debut as you could ask for, delivering 10 medals at the 2023 Canada Winter Games.
