BC Basketball Super Fans Finish 9th

BC Basketball Super Fans Finish 9th
As the first week of the 2013 Canada Summer Games come to a close, many athletes are able to take in other competitions, cheer on their teammates and meet other athletes. The Team BC Basketball boys are an excellent example of athletes taking advantage of the unique opportunity of a multi-sport Games. Donning the British Columbia provincial flag, blue and yellow spirit sleeves and Team BC swag, the basketball team cheered on 5 competitions in the past 3 days. The boys cheered on their fellow Team BC athletes bringing energy and enthusiasm with them to every sporting event.

Team BC Basketball played their final game of the 2013 Canada Summer Games today beating Alberta 76-51, earning them 9th place.

Athletes and coaches who have participated in the Canada Games understand that competing in a multi-sport Games environment is very different than competing in single sport competition. Athletes also quickly learn the significance of competing as part of a larger team and that every individual result counts towards the greater team goal of finishing first overall. As athletes progress along the development pathway, Team BC provides a valuable learning experience that prepares them for international mutli-sport competitions.
