Eight Team BC alumni who have competed at the Canada Games have been named to the Canadian Olympic Team for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.
Every four years, Team BC brings together the best athletes, coaches, managers, and mission staff to represent the province at the Canada Winter and Summer Games. These premier events are a training ground for British Columbia’s best athletic talents and provide an important multi-sport Games experience. Set at the Training to Compete stage of the Canadian Sport for Life pathway, athletes from 39 different sports have the opportunity to test themselves at a national level competition before moving on to international level events.
The timing of the Olympic Winter Games coincides with the one year countdown to the Prince George 2015 Canada Winter Games. Team BC will have the opportunity to compete on home soil against the best in the country from February 15 to March 1, 2015
Competing for Team BC at the Canada Games is part of the athlete development pathway that begins with the BC Games.
