Team BC Mission Staff announced for Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games

The Team BC Mission Staff has been selected to lead the provincial team competing at the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games from August 6 to 21.

The team, originally announced ahead of the postponed 2021 Canada Summer Games in Niagara, Ontario, will feature a mix of new and familiar faces tasked with providing administrative, logistical, and performance preparation support for athletes and coaches attending the rescheduled Games.

Jennifer Scott will lead the staff as the Chef de Mission. This is Jennifer’s second time in the role and her fifth Games as part of the Team BC Mission Staff. She returns to the role after successfully leading Team BC to a record number of gold medals at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta.

“I’m excited to be back as Chef de Mission for Team BC and to lead a strong contingent of Mission Staff,” says Jennifer. “It’s been a challenging two years, having the Games postponed, but we’re all eager to get back to experiencing sport and the competition and comradery the games provide.”

Team BC will also see two more familiar faces on the leadership team with Assistant Chef de Mission Danielle Williams reprising her role from the 2019 Canada Winter Games alongside Jarret Poitras, who will serve as the Operations Manager for Team BC.

Team BC will send over 500 athletes, coaches, support staff, and Mission Staff to the Games. The Canada Summer Games are held every four years and are a key step in the development of Canada’s amateur athletes.
