Team BC continues podium dominance at the Table Tennis competition at the 2019 Canada Winter Games with a silver medal in male doubles. Steve Wang (North Vancouver) and Kenny Jiang (Burnaby) were defeated by Quebec in five games (3-2) in a thriller at Westerner Park.
“I’m upset because we had beat Team Quebec earlier this week, but we fought hard and went for it.”
Wang was disappointed following the loss, but has more competition to come as he will play for singles gold this afternoon in Red Deer.
Jiang finished 5th in the male singles competition.
Earlier in the tournament, Wang and Jiang with Team BC member David Lin (Richmond) won the team event Bronze here at the 2019 Canada Winter Games.
Table Tennis has now won 4 medals, with the chance for 4 more this afternoon in the singles medal round.
