Boxer Brayden Sims (Fort St. John) won Team BC their seventh gold medal at the 2019 Canada Winter Games on Wednesday.
“Today was a real emotional day. It took a lot of mental preparing for this fight especially. I’ve been visualizing that gold medal forever now,” said Sims. “I am so glad I won. It was a close fight ... I'm just astounded right now. I can't even speak.”
Sims defeated Justice Harborne from Manitoba in a decision by points 3-2 to win gold in the 60 kilogram event.
