Team BC sailors in good position heading into final days of competition
Sailors at the 2017 Canada Games have been sailing at the picturesque Gimli Yacht Club on the shores of Lake Winnipeg.

Team BC sailors have competed for three days men’s and women’s 29er, radial, laser, and 2.4 divisions.

After three days of racing, in the 29er men’s division, Josh Smithman (Vancouver) and Henrik Parker (North Vancouver) currently sit in 4th place.

In the women’s 29er division, Hannah Smith (Surrey) and Emily Bugeja (West Vancouver) sit in 2nd place. In the Laser division, John Owen (Victoria) sits in 2nd place.

In the radial division, Makena Shepard (Victoria) sits in 5th place. In 2.4 division, Delani Hulme-Lawrence (Victoria) also sits in 5th place.  

Sailors had a rest day on Wednesday and were able to take in Canada Games competitions in Winnipeg and cheer on fellow Team BC members.

Sailing resumes on August 3 with final races and medals on August 4.
