Biathlon preparing for Sunday start to competition

Biathlon is busy training getting ready for their first races starting February 15 at 10:00 am.   All male and female racers will be racing in the men’s 15 km and women’s 12.5 km.  Coach Glenn Rupertus said, “The snow is fast today for the athlete’s official training session and the temperature is in the negative numbers so that is great.”

We know the magic happens with the athletes on the snow and when they are shooting, however in the back area of the Otway Nordic Centre there is other magic happening, and that’s with the wax techs. Rob Swan, Biathlon Team Manager, will be working his magic on the skis in the waxing trailers.

Two biathletes from Prince George, Claire Lapointe and Bobby Kreitz, represented Team BC with Prince George MLA Shirley Bond and others to highlight Career Zone at the Canada Games Plaza where people can check out opportunities for trades and technology.
